Water Conservation Arts Education Program
Welcome! Seats please, we are about to get started! The stage curtain opens: a band of pirates is on stage talking about a water shortage in a far off land, in another school across town a queen questions her subject on why their water bill is so high, and in another school the three little pigs figure out their water wasting ways in their homes, in another school. . . Thank you for visiting our Water Conservation Arts Education Program Web site! The Hillsborough County Water Resource and the Southwest Florida Water Management District have joined forces with the School District of Hillsborough County to educate students, teachers and parents about the importance of protecting and conserving our local water resources. How is this done? Through the magic of live, original and interactive stage performances featuring singing, acting, dancing, costumes, and stage props. This unique project was created as a means to educate, inspire and enable young children on ways they can save, protect and prevent the pollution of our limited freshwater supply. This project is now in its 13th year and reaches over 60,000 students and 2000 teachers each year! Best of all, students learn all of these important messages while watching an entertaining, multi-sensory live theater performance, which they might not have seen before. Open any stage door and explore our Web site to find out more!
